Blogging and Creative Writing

I went to the Manchester Blog Awards last night and had a fascinating insight into the creative writing blogosphere.

I came away thinking that if you want to be a writer you just have to have a blog and that having a blog can lead to bigger things (if you are any good of course). Jen Ashworth who won the Manchester blog of the year award a couple of years ago is just about to publish her first novel.

So to any of you that want to be a writer, get blogging. Not sure where intellectual property comes in and the risk of having your ideas stolen! But blogging is good news for writers and the awards showed that there is a community of bloggers out there that will be willing to give you honest feedback.

So no surprises what I will be recommending anyone who comes to me wanting to be a writer to do….

VFX course November 24, 2009 at 11:17 am: Cool share. You should post some photos of Manchester awards. It will be good to see it so post it if you have..:-)
